This list serves to summarise the new features and important bug fixes included in various updates and maintenance releases.

May 14, 2009 - Release 7.6.0

• Trial license is not included in the installation package any more, but will be sent via the product download email. Each user will be granted a 30-day trial period.

Optimizations

Translation Studio:

• Only existing languages of the terminology database will be listed when searching terms.
• Relative and Fixed modes are added for limiting text length of translation.

Translation Studio:

• Fix the bug that there may be un-repairable wrong tags.
• Fix the bug that the application may skip to the second segment when opening a file for the first time, and application freezes when the file has only one segment.
• Fix the bug that XLIFF file converted from plain text file with GB2312 encoding contains garbage characters.

April 15, 2009 - Release 7.5.1

New Features and Updates

• Newly added progress bar to show the update progress.

Optimizations

Translation Studio:

• Insert date and time prefix automatically to added notes.
• Highlight all note texts by default when adding or editing notes.
• Use the current selected TM DB by default for concordance search.
• Remove auto-saved copy when file is saved correctly.
• Prompt to overwrite existing files when converting XLIFF back to the original format.

All products:

• Prompt to overwrite existing files when exporting database as TMX or TBX.

Bug Fixes

Translation Studio:

• Ongoing added translations from a file into the current TM DB couldn't be matched.
• Translations from a Trados-exported TMX file couldn't be matched.
• Same file is allowed to repeatedly added into a project.
• XLIFF files, generated from Microsoft Office files, could not be auto-converted back into original format by OpenOffice. (Only in Release 7.5.0)

Dictionary Editor:

• User-defined values could not be recognized at their levels.

All products:

• Items in the dictionaries list couldn't be selected in Download Dictionaries dialog.
• Texts couldn't be completely previewed in the preview box when set to a big font.

• Fix the bug that & is wrongly converted.
• Fix the bug that quick translations for segments afterwards are empty after adding to TM and going to next segment.
• Fix the bug that unable to search keyword which contain the character (') in Concordance Search.

Important

This release will update the default segmentation file default_rules.srx, which is located in installation path/srx. If you have ever made any change to the file and want to keep it, please backup the file before updating. Then you may replace the updated one with your own backup file.

Important

The database structure has been optimized, so translation memory created by previous versions may not work correctly. We strongly recommend that you export your translation memory as TMX and re-import with new version.

• Translation Studio now automatically copy fuzzy matches to Translation pane if the pane is empty
• In Translation Studio, a user can insert a term to Translation pane by double clicking the term in Terminology Window
• Optimized the batch processing (Project) feature in Translation Studio, it's now easier to use, file types can now be detected automatically, enhanced drag-and-drop features here
