New Database
Options
HSQL replaces
IBM Cloudscape/Apache
Derby as Internal database engine. The new
Internal DB is 3 or 4 times faster than the old
one.
Important:
Legacy Internal databases are still
supported. All existing internal databases can be
used after upgrading to the new version, but it is
highly recommended to export old data as TMX and
import the TMX files into new
databases.
New Spell Checker
A new spell checker engine, able to
use dictionaries from
OpenOffice.org, has been included in XLIFF
and TMX Editors. Aspell is still supported.
Default spell checker is selected with a
simple dialog:

Example-based creation of
configuration files for XML
Converter
A new option has been added to XML Converter
Configuration: the ability to select an XML document
and create a configuration file based on the tags
present on it.
New option for using regular
expressions in Concordance Search
dialog
A check box for indicating whether the text to
search is a regular expression has been added to the
Concordance Search Dialog.
Results of Term Searches can now be
saved as TBX
It is also possible to search terms using
regular expressions.
Selection of database records to
edit using Regular Expressions
Using a regular expression like
.* it
is now possible to edit complete databases using the
TMX Editor without exporting as TMX.
It is also possible now to delete records from
a database while editing.
XSL
Transformations
A new dialog for performing XSL
transformations is available in the Advance menu of
the XLIFF Translation Editor.
It is possible to process XLIFF, TMX, TBX and
any XML file using XSL stylesheets. Results can be
seen immediately after the transformation has been
completed.
New option for setting default user
id in TMX files
TMX Editor now has a dialog for setting the
default values to use in changeid
and creationid attributes when
editing TMX files.
Extract entries with multiple
translation
Entries with more than one translation can now
be removed from a TMX file or TM database and
exported to a separate TMX file. After editing, the
remaining entries can be merged with the original to
obtain a cleaner translation memory.
Add/remove properties or notes to
all entries in a TMX file or
database
Two new dialogs for adding properties or notes
to TMX files or TM databases were added to the TMX
Editor.
It is also possible to remove notes or a
selected property from all entries at once.
New Index Bar in Dictionary
Editor
A new toolbar, with buttons for jumping to the
first term that starts with the selected entry has
been added to the Dictionary Editor.
